Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; this site does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept so a response can be provided. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may automatically receive basic technical and usage details:
- Timestamps for each page view
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Your device type and operating system
- The referring site, when one is available
- The device’s IP address
- The browser type and version
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies stored on a visitor’s device help measure traffic patterns, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics services combine that usage information. A browser can be set to reject cookies, although disabling them may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search query to the selected outside provider
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Understanding which pages are useful or need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Martin County Criminal History does not compile, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records maintained by MCSO, the Martin County courts, FDLE’s Division of Criminal Justice Information Services, and the Florida Sexual Offender and Predator Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not used to create consumer reports or third-party criminal-record files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that company’s privacy policy, including its retention and sharing rules. Review those terms before sending a query because this site does not control the provider’s practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to MCSO, the Martin County Clerk, Florida agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may nevertheless be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a visitor’s query
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks serving ads on these pages
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet system is completely secure, however, so the site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, it will be deleted after notice is received.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with a visitor’s location and applicable law. Florida’s public-record access rules in Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, and criminal-history dissemination rule in section 943.053 govern government-held records, not this private site. Subject to applicable privacy and consumer-protection law, a visitor may:
- Request deletion of personal data
- Ask what personal information is held
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. An updated version becomes available on this page with a replacement effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
